  •  Medicare pays lots of private providers (12+ / 0-)

My primary care doc sees Medicare patients. So does my endocrinologist, and so it seems does the podiatrist I am now undfortunatey getting acquainted with. All private businesses.

My primary care provider. My former vascular surgeon (since retired). My podiatrist. My gynecologist. My physical therapist. The pain clinic. Formerly, the dialysis clinic and the companies that provided my dialysis supplies. While the dialysis clinic is one of the few nonprofit dialysis companies in the U.S., it's still private. The only docs I see who are associated with a university hospital instead of a private business are my nephrologist and transplant nephrologist.

It's a good thing I have an established relationship with the podiatrist and the gynecology clinic; neither one is taking new Medicare patients.

Organ donors save lives! A donor's kidney gave me my life back on 02/18/11; he lives on in me. Please talk with your family about your wish to donate.

Why are war casualty counts "American troops" and "others" but never "human beings"?
