    support system. I have preferred to go through certain life events sans some family  members because of similar behavior.

    Sometimes, things really are, all about You. And you shouldn't have to deal with that kind of drama when your situation is that serious.

    What this person is offering you is the opposite of support. It's sabotage. And given what you have lived through, and this diagnosis, while I understand making time for her, I am not sure I would ever want someone like that anywhere near me, if I had to deal with such serious situations.

      If she alone showed up to a family function, I'd say hello for politeness, then avoid avoid avoid.

      She once told me that if it had been my sister, she would have killed him. Trust me, I know I'm nothing to her, and I give her none of my energy. This post was for me, to get her out of my headspace, you know? :)

        out there somewhere, there are others, some of whom have commented who will read this and feel validated, not realizing that they are not alone in their personal experiences.
