    that their TV show moved from PBS to commercial syndication, Siskel and Ebert came to our local community college for an evening of film clips (no consumer level video back then,) story-telling, and Q&A.
    I remember being struck by the fact that Ebert, with his owlish glasses, Pulitzer prize, and weekly introduction of Ingmar Bergman films on the local public TV station, was not in any way the stuffy intellectual some surmised, but was in fact a marvelously laid-back, warm, and downright funny individual.
    (It was Siskel who seemed to have a stick up his butt.)

    Only Nixon could go to China. Remember that when you think of Obama, Medicare/Medicaid, and Social Security.
