    is that the Democrats are no longer the party of bigotry.

      I personally think marriage is a Fundamental right, just
      as the court in Loving v Virginia called it, but,
      I think our society is moving so fast, it may not
      matter.

      The Supremes will put out an opinion this summer or sometime in the fall.

      In that time, things will have moved further.

      About 58% of the population approves of the idea,
      and IMHO it's all been driven by Gays in the Military.

      4 years ago the President was "Evolving" and debating,
      the gay community moved hard on DADT and I think that
      broke the logjam.

      The DoD handled the masks coming off far better then I ever dreamed.  I suspect it's because everyone quietly knew that there were lots of closeted gays in various ranks, services and
      duties.

      Now that it happened and we didn't have riots in the services and the people didn't freak out, I suspect that really undermined a lot of the bigots and the change-phobic.
