  •  on top of my house. :( (6+ / 0-)

They like to breed on houses here, I live on the coast, and had one breeding couple on top of myself a while ago. Their babies are quite ridiculous, they whine incessantly and after a while their parents have had enough and throw them from the roof. Then the babies waddle around between the cars and continue whining. Those that dont get flattened are then forced to take to the air apparently through the sheer contempt with which they´re treated by the grown up gulls. Ah and in the mornings they fly circles through my courtyard and scream at me that I should get to work. But when any decent fighting bird comes (such as our resident falcon, or an occasional bussard) then it is not the gulls but the crows who do the home defence. (I have great admiration for the crows! They are astonishing fellows. The gulls are more like air-rats)

yes I live in the land of the blackhead gulls, Lachmoewe, but they dont really stand a chance here at the coast, the silver and mantled gulls rule.

Once we had a skua! That was a bird.
