  •  Tax hike! (6+ / 0-)

The way the action is being reported down here is that the state government wants to raise taxes on parents whose kids attend college.

Hit these idiotic legislators where it hurts.

I wonder how many conservative North Carolinians (many of whom remain democrats--at least in name) are happy with this government they've elected.

Just because the government keeps a record of real property transfers, it doesn't mean that the government wants to confiscate your home.

And to your point about "this government they've elected".  I would imagine that a lot of voters thought that McCrory was a moderate; and it seems that with all of this bad legislation being considered in Raleigh, at least some of those voters most be having second thoughts.

Interestingly, I just received a blast email from ncsenate.org fundraising for Democrats off this bill and the legislation restricting early voting.  Hopefully that suggests that the state Democratic party has learned some lessons from 2010 and 2012.

... it's a tax hike on parents struggling to send their kids to college.

You can't tie tax rates to voting behavior.

Just because the government keeps a record of real property transfers, it doesn't mean that the government wants to confiscate your home.
