  •  Our outdoor "fridge" (12+ / 0-)

I took this photo with my cell phone.  You can see the gallon milk carton on the snow bank next to our house.

The silver pole in the image  is the handle to my roof rake.  I wish I didn't even know what a roof rake is, but they are a part of life in Minnesota.

    •  Oh my. (9+ / 0-)

Maybe you can use that roof rake and spread some of that snow out into the sunny spots and make it melt faster!?

Love the outdoor fridge aspect of it, though.  ;-)

My roof is slate.  On the first sunny day, the snow slides right off of it.  Sometimes, that's a convenient thing.  Other times, though, it can get violent and destructive. This year and last year, I made it through the whole winter without damage.  Some years, though, I lose the front gutter.  Two years ago, the soffit and fascia came off with the gutter.  That was less than a week after the garage roof collapsed.  Sigh.
