    Perhaps salmon steaks instead?

I'm driving down the Blue Ridge Parkway from Roanoke, VA and plan on leaving as early as possible to beat the traffic. Most likely I'll be there well before noon and lay claim to a choice spot.

I'm republishing this to VA DKos group for additional exposure. There are quite a few Kossacks in SW Virginia.

      •  The offer of fish to a vegan is an inside joke (0+ / 0-)

        among my friends.

Whenever we enter an eating establishment and one of our party says 'I'm vegan, what do you have for an entree?' Invariably the server will say 'We have a lovely sea bass or red snapper.'

It's like a set up for an old vaudeville routine joke. We usually begin laughing before the server has a chance to reply. Ah, such is life in a small town.

At least the servers aren't spiteful or judgmental, just a little naive. Considering the deep redneckistan up-bringing these poor children have endured they are faring well in what passes for modern society here. Bless them.
