  •  I was almost arrested once. . . (9+ / 0-)

. . .because a police officer lied and said that I was named in a hit and run police report.  I said "this conversation is over, I want to speak to an attorney."  He reached out to grab me and suggested that I cooperate or be arrested.  (He scared the crap out of my wife who watched the whole thing.)
I called the person who was with me when I lost the parts to my truck (I showed him all the parts too) and she explained what happened.  (The witness was married to a  County Corrections officer who one of the cops knew.)  The partner said we knew you were innocent, because you were indignant  (the unadulterated A-H).

I visited the police station and demanded to see the report with my information on it.  The woman refused to show it to me, but read it.  No mention was made about me or my truck at all.

Later, my wife was dismissed from a possible jury panel on a murder trail in a nearby town, real fast,  when she relayed that story.  And believe me the prosecutor was pissed (and yelled at her) for having to hear it.

Moral is:  They do what ever the fuck they want.

Money ain't free speech and it won't buy you love.
