      I said people are not voluntarily giving up their guns.  The likely cause is immigration of people who come from a non firearm owning background.   Also, I said clearly that this statistic has no standing in the debate over 2nd amendment rights.  What is the point exactly?  Rights are delineated expressly for the minority.  If the majority ruled, the Bill of Rights would be pointless.

      and how respondents might not be honest for obvious reasons....but most obvious is that the numbers reported on polls don't correlate to other data.  Such as background checks for new gun owners is at an all time high.  Brand new concealed weapons licenses are at an all time every single state that allows them.  

      These facts speak volumes.

        reason people have guns is changing, along with the culture of the country.  Fewer people are owning guns to hunt and more people are owning them for defense.  I suspect that the concealed carry data would also show that the trend is for urban rather than rural gun ownership.
