    and "getting while the getting is good." That's how the "free market" works. People with binary brains are concrete thinkers; they don't employ adjectives and adverbs that might qualify or specify. So, in the phrase "free market," each word serves as a noun, a symbol for some thing.

    Anyway, poking a hole in the earth and collecting what runs out is not a major achievement. Putting the unused portion back without killing organisms with toxins, now that would be an achievement. We've got to stop being impressed that some people are good at collecting and accumulating, especially money. When people accumulate a lot of money, it's a sign of greed and a lack of invention.

    ExxonMobil has an add that says "all it takes is the idea." That's wrong, but it's also indicative of the company's problems. They're an agglomeration of impersonal takers, automatons and simpletons. Collection and accumulation are primitive behaviors. Squirrels do it; termites do it. Bees, on the other hand, process pollen and turn it into honey. Exxon's waste is nobody's treasure.
