    a measurement of the total amount of sulfur contained in all sulfur containing compounds in the crude.   That total is not the same measurement as the amount of hydrogen sulfide and methyl mercaptan contained in the crude.   Those are the primary two compounds that will impart the strong sulfur odors from the crude presently being experienced in Mayflower, AR.    Phenyl and ethyl mercaptan might also be present.  

    All of the volatile sulfur compounds present will be just a small portion of the total sulfur content of the crude, which will mostly consist of non-volatile compounds other than the ones mentioned about.
