    I was forced to retire at 60 when I worked in China. While this was not good for me since I did not qualify for a pension, it worked really well for Chinese citizens.

    The seniors got to retire to enjoy raising their grandchildren and the jobs opened up for college graduates.

    Like I said, it was not good for me since I lost my work permit and visa, which meant I had to return to America, but the Chinese like retiring at 60 (women at 55).

    There is talk of raising both to 65 and 60 respectively, but nothing concrete yet.
