    tracking senate ethics.
Even blatant things like committee members and chairman (looking at you Max Baucus) getting huge bucks from very industries they are writing bills on and oversee. That is more than just the appearance of impropriety.
But if even questioned they just have to say the money does not influence them and it is all fine and dandy.
Andy would put a stop to that

our state and local legislative bodies. Birds of a feather flock together. Public corporations set up (authorize the creation of) private corporations as subsidiaries to receive handouts from the public treasury and carry free resources to market for a profit.
That has been one of the main legislative functions from the beginning -- nay, from before the colonial era when the crowned heads of Europe handed out charters and land grants to explorers and exporters and extractors. The Americas served as the model of exploitation -- of conquest followed by plunder. That humans should give back for what they take from Mother Earth is an indigenous concept, only recently adopted by environmentalists. But then, confederation was also an indigenous principle. Native Americans were not prepared for people who did not bargain in good faith.

We organize governments to deliver services and prevent abuse.
