The expensive cell phone I got many years ago when my spouse was in the military, is several generations old, and has an extremely cracked face because said spouse threw it on the ground (she's now in jail)? That one? The one I use, as many deaf & HH people do, to use ip relay services? Those all take data.

If you read my tip jar, you'd easily see MY FRIEND is giving me a buzz cut. And it's actually difficult to find hair dressers who will work on me, because the eczema on my scalp is so bad. You see, it's often open sores. I have one now, but I won't be seeing her, even though her prices are reasonable.

I'm sorry I'm poor. I'm sorry that I can't do physical labor, and that I can't be a receptionist, and that I no longer have the memory to be an insurance or mortgage assistant (both high pressure jobs, despite the names).

And I'm VERY sorry that I wasn't given the information on the requirements and how to apply for general assistance, which if you read my diary carefully, was what I was asking for.

    •  please don't apologize! (6+ / 0-)

You are living your poverty, you are living your disabilities, but you are a human being with a mind and soul and body that are every bit as legitimate as entry tickets into the human race as any others'!

I don't even know how to see that my unneeded personal items get into the hands of someone who needs them.  In New Mexico I knew; here in Maryland with all my affluent neighbors, I have no idea.

But LoreleiHI don't be sorry for having health problems. Don't be sorry for being poor. Sometimes things don't work out. Sometimes we get sick or injured.

We should not use either of those conditions as an excuse to mistreat others.

When we encounter someone in trouble, its supposed to be an opportunity to give our best as a human, and this woman you encountered failed miserably.
