    and don't watch any broadcast dramas so I have no way of telling. I recently saw the pilot for The Newsroom and really liked it. Other than that, and a few minutes of Mad Men and maybe one or two other shows, I don't think I've seen any of the "Second Golden Age of TV" shows.

    I watch the new Hawaii 5-O, a pretty silly and predictable show but easy to watch, especially the gorgeous shots of the island.

      You can buy entire series or episodes of most of these shows through iTunes. All the advantages of cable without the cost of cable (or the immense dreck available on cable).

      You have to wait for HBO shows, but lots of the others are released simultaneously with broadcast.

      Skepticism of all the elite institutions, not trust, is what required for successful leadership in this era. Digby

        I wait till my local library has them on DVD and then check them out. When I take to a show, I want to watch episodes in rapid succession, not weekly, and am willing to wait a year or two for that (and prefer to not pay for it :-) ). Never been much of a water cooler show converser.
