The qualification of what used to be "Mini-Series" event television (Roots?)  Etc.   We just don't do that much.

I don't see Misfits or Luthor that way, they are 6 or sometimes 10 eps.. etc.   I'm OK with that, like Shameless/etc. which are 13.   But just 3 which are movie format doesn't strike me as a proper "series" but an event.. they can pour much more money and break them farther apart then how we view a series.

John Adams would be a good example I guess. Or the Pillars of the Earth adaptation.

I usually consider 'series' a multiple season event with a beginning middle and end to a particular set of events, only for the same characters etc to take on new evens the next go around all while having to deal with the consequences of the previous seasons.

A miniseries is more of a longer movie to me.

On a different note, I hear they are doing a Season 2 of the new Vikings show on History Channel. Glad thats one going to get more story-telling time.

Was a great miniseries.   Really worthwhile.

        •  I think they did justice to the book (0+ / 0-)

for sure. I am just finishing up World Without End, and while it has its moments it feels a little rushed or something at times. I realize there is a lot of ground to cover but there is not a lot of time to come to know the characters.
