And hoping for Hillary, the DLC's actual candidate inn the '08 primary, to become more liberal than her husband and her most recent boss (both of whom will be her largest cash generators other than herself) is futile.  She's been in the guts of that movement from the git go.

Don't know if you were here in the '08 primary but preempting her candidacy was what much of this site was about.  The Hillaryites left and formed their own blog.  Obama was largely seen as the anti-Hilary, in part because he dissed the DLC pretty thoroughly in the months just prior to the primary.   The DLC quit publishing their members list altogether after he demanded they quit calling him a member.   Maybe he knew, even that far back, that they were going to back her and that he couldn't afford for her to get their nod with him getting passed by.  At any rate, it had nothing to do, in hindsight, with a philosophical issue between him and the DLC.  He has out-Clintoned the Clintons.  No way could H gotten away with what he has.

She will not have a free ride here.  Her stint at State was also very problematic.  It will not be pretty, and it shouldn't be.
