    favor members of a given migratory group with certain skills over thousands of generations, ones that developed a different type of intelligence than we can imagine that allow even young whales on their first journeys, for example, to navigate thousands of miles from a “memory” of visual and sound images imbedded in their DNA.

    However, the devil’s advocate position I would proffer is that even long-living species would only experience maybe 8-10 feet ocean floor shift in their lifetimes so they’d have to be incredibly perceptive (although if I move one niknak in our living room the missus spots it immediately!).
