sort of caught me by surprise how popular this subject matter was with the community. Oh well, on any given day there's always a surprise, and sometimes, like this one, they're even good. See you this weekend for another tour series. . .a smaller replica of Bryce Canyon. Can you guess where and what???

learning what I got paid to teach and I do thank my lucky stars for having such employment. Imagine getting paid to play! Well, I sure wore out my knees backpacking so much, but the biking helps restore 'em. No complaints. Stay tuned for 'little Bryce Canyon,' a diary coming up next (on Saturday). Do you know which national monument I'm referring to? Well, if not, you soon will, Wildthumb.

I designed and planted out and introduced native critters to a large nature center on a school campus. Since my retirement I get to play in it every day and call all the shots.

Currently my next wish is to collect some uncommon spadefoot toads and introduced them to a special "vernal pool" just for them. I've already collected native fish and frogs and native lizards and turned them loose. All in the middle of the city with residences right across the street.

Problem is, this space becomes my "nature" and I haven't been "out there" hiking around enough! :)
