    the refrigerator has just taken control of my kitchen.

    I just remembered that I have so salmon in the fridge that just can't wait and I'll have to put the portobello mushrooms off until tomorrow.

    So it's back to the drawing board so to speak.

    I think that I'll just cook the salmon on the stove top in my iron skillet and prepare some rice.

    As it happens, I'll be doing the same rice that I was planing to have with the mushrooms except that I'll be having it along side the salmon instead.

    I'll be doing the rice in my Panasonic Rice Steamer which I purchased because it cooks the bare minimum amount of rice.

    I'll be using brown California rice with a little bit of wild rice while adjusting the liquid accordingly.

    While the rice is cooking, I'll be sauteing some mushrooms and combining them with toasted/slivered almonds and a little butter.

    As an aside, these button mushrooms were sitting along side the salmon requiring my attention.

    When the rice is done, I'll be adding the cooked rice with the other ingredients and serving it along side of the salmon.

    The only trouble with retirement is...I never get a day off!
