just how messed up the election data is in NJ, and it's not just one area. Lakewood, Trenton, Newark, Jersey City, Elizabeth, Salem, and others are all messed up.

Unfortunately, I don't know how to post a map in a comment. In my diaries, I've always used the handy picture tool that DK has, but I can't do that in a comment.

If I have time, I'll post a diary with my proposals for nonpartisan, CoI-based maps. It won't be as big as yours because many of your maps I agree with completely. However, this is a very busy week for me, and I'm not sure I'll have time until next week.

Otherwise you have to use a 3rd party host to post pictures in comments.

I'd definitely enjoy seeing a diary of your own though.

that the states in which I feel that I could improve the most on these maps are MA, NJ, and PA.

Since those are only three states, the diary would be of a manageable size, and it wouldn't take too long to write.

I'll try to get my diary up as soon as I have any free time.

As for the rest of your maps, either I agree with them completely or any differences that I would make are minor enough that it wouldn't be worth drawing a whole new map.

        •  I did actually post my NJ alternatives before (0+ / 0-)

I'm guessing your map is closer to my second or third one, but really the south Jersey districts had at least one district combine disparate communities of interest when I tried drawing them.

          •  My districts 1 and 2 (0+ / 0-)

are closest to your first map, but my district 3 is closest to your third map (just imagine district 3 containing all of Mercer County).

My district 4 contains all of Ocean County, and... etc.

I know that the saying is that a picture is worth a thousand words. That seems particularly true in this case. I'll try to get my diary up.
