      Black Americans and for that matter everyone else knows the parties' history with race quite well.  Everyone knows yes the old South segregationists were Democrats, but the unrepentant ones all became Republicans as Democrats became uniformly liberal on race.

      Ordinary voters know this.

      But whackadoodles like Paul and so many other wingnuts lose themselves in emotional self-medication, which is all their "arguments" are.  Stuff like this goes back a generation in U.S. politics, it's mindless drivel whose parroting today just underscores how screwed the GOP really is.

        Where the African-American students are likely far more educated on political party history than average AA voters.  Paul is just so self absorbed he actually thinks he can stroll into any audience and convince them his freakish libertarian brand of conservatism is a good idea.  Most intelligent people know that sort of system has to practicality in the real world.
