  •  Thank you Senator (4+ / 0-)

It is my opinion that this crisis has gone too far now. We will not be able to stop the twin disasters of Climate Change or Peak Oil/Resources. Pointing fingers at who is to blame is counter productive at this point.

Climate change is happening, and it no longer matters how or why. What matters is how Humankind adapts to the changes.

But just for the hell of it, even if climate change is a hoax, and we clean up our planet under false pretenses. We clean up the air and water. Move forward with changes to our society and way of life and create a better place....

How is this a bad thing?

because in the hopeful world you describe, we have moved forward and created a better place.

If the accepted story of the Dark Times of the twenty first century is the Jesus punished us for being too nice to brown people, or there was too much buttsecks, that future will never develop.
More to the point,  a clear examination of both the specific behaviors that are creating this crisis and the larger paradigm of extraction and exploitation that underpin our interactions must be performed to prevent our natural tendencies from rebooting the whole cancerous thing in another hundred years.

          i'm not proposing an either/or.
i am pointing to the recent trend of always "looking forward" after preventable catastrophes and warning against the logical outcome; a repeat.
