    Something like $500 to $1.5 billion was spent on that before it quietly (and thankfully) slipped off into oblivion.

    Probably because the Obama Administration refused to regulate fracking, making even regular coal, let alone clean coal, economically non-competitive.

      All I will say is that carbon capture was feasible. It was not economically attractive by any stretch of the imagination. Of course, leaving the Cheney task force recommendations in place, including the Haliburton loophole, meant the death even of the solar initiatives (more or less, or at least the retarding of them domestically), but the money spent was not wasted.

      I'm not a fan of coal. It's just that Obama has shown that he believes in energy independence above environmental sustainability, and that would mean coal.

      Everyone is innocent of some crime.
