    the visible condensation funnel we all assume is the extent of the tornado. There have been cases (Joplin and the '99 OKC tornado, for example) where the visible tornado itself was over a mile wide, but the damaging winds (over 60MPH) extended a few miles beyond that.

    It would be dangerous to feel the tornado's wind because of the debris, yep. Even in tiny EF-0 tornado there could be lethal debris flying around.

    And you're right about the straight line wind damage. Much more common than tornadoes, but people tend to ignore it the most. Go figure.
