where many of the injured are fighting for their lives.  Also spent some unhappy time in Children's, getting my tonsils out.  If there is one thing to be grateful for, is that Boston has one of the best, deepest medical communities in the US.

Thinking of those (from orderlies to surgeons) who are trying to work through the horror of what they are dealing with, in order to patch people up again, as best they can.

Also grateful that the magnificent Boson Library building was not damaged.  Yes, this was clearly aimed at the runners or  ????.

Another point, I read that the hotels where so many people are staying have opened their doors, and are letting many families & runners stay for free tonight and airline schedules are being rearranged.  Truly, the whole city is trying to be helpful.

several experts have weighed in after hospital press conferences saying that the bombs were designed and positioned to kill and maim people on the sidewalks. Injuries were all in the midsections and below the waist - people lost legs and feet.  The target was people ...

it happened at the finish line where an army of first responders and other kinds of medical people and volunteers, along with wheelchairs, IV's and other medical equipment was stationed.

So many deaths will be averted...all those lost limbs did not result in deaths thank goodness becauee of the quick response of the first responders and volunteers--even members of the crowd-to grab wheelchairs and rush the injured to the triage tent, which already existed because of the marathon.

My friend was a volunteer massage therapist and she said they all just grabbed wheelchairs and the injured and got them to the medical people fast. There of course was a legitmate concern that another bomb could go off anywhere at anytime so the entire area was unsafe.
