But I can't think of a modern president who's gone so far out of his way to flip off his base.

    •  Well, Harding's big scandal was Teapot Dome. (7+ / 0-)

The banking scandal is a lot bigger than that. It's the largest theft in all of human history. So pretty much anyone with a hand in letting it go on (and I assume you watched Warren grill Obama's OCC people) is a winner in the corruption sweepstakes.

I think TheOrchid phrased it better above:

Perhaps asking "has any President been more corrupt than Obama" is a bit extreme, but it's definitely time to start asking "just how corrupt is Obama"?
I was just so gobsmacked by the latest that I didn't phrase the question as well as I could have. But Christ. I'm trying to think of a time when Obama took on powerful, dishonest people and sided with transparency and average folks. I'm sure it must have happened, but nothing really springs to mind.

What we need is a Democrat in the White House.

      •  The un-tidied up banking scandals (5+ / 0-)

is by far the most egregious of obama's misdeeds.

It's amazing that after a humongous bank bailout/extortion that there haven't been sweeping regulations passed to limit banks.

Dodd-Frank has some potential depending on implementation, but mostly won't do shit to help prevent another crisis (glass-steagal not reimplemented, no financial transactions tax, all kinds of stuff wrong with it, not to mention banksters wrote the damn thing!)

ACA didn't challenge the insurance companies, it just gave a sloppy wet one to every insurance tycoon in the health racket.

You and all of us have a right to be frustrated at this lack of standing up for the average guy and holding powerful corrupt people accountable.

...disaster with some degree of honesty and transparency. And people went to jail. A lot of them.

Not this time, not under Obama. So you see why I ask the question.

and you have balls (or whatever neutral equivalent) for coming out and telling it how you feel it is regardless of the backlash from apologists.

people really have ignored the true issues that are harming our nation right now -- MONEY CORRUPTION BANKSTERS INEQUALITY.

meanwhile our country slips into oligarchy as the masters inflict austerity on the masses and dangle gay rights and gun safety in front of our faces.
