    i'm upset that they're passing restrictions to the STOCK bill independently of a full ethics reform (strengthening of the current regulations).  there's no reason why protections for certain sensitive employees can't be implemented as part of a larger reform as the NAPA outlined, that could have been in the works for MONTHS since this study was even commissioned. instead, they decided to just gut the important pro-transparency parts of the bill preventing easy online search of more officials who could have conflicts of interest that should be examined by the public.

    and yes I do know something about Congress' intention of not doing anything about those recommendations.

    they won't do shit about overhauling ethics in government. if you think otherwise you obviously haven't been watching congress.

    that's why so many of us are amazed at how this thing managed to get through our congress with unanimous votes over the weekend by both houses and signed by pres.

    Deficits don't matter, jobs do.
