    about transparency? accountability? anything?

the loss of these provisions in STOCK Act here just gives us less momentum to get real government ethics reform.

this isn't something to shrug off, this is a major loss.

it also sets the standard that there's a distinction between "public information" and "accessible over the internet by the public"

seems stupid right? but these are the kinds of progressions that need to be on our side and not on the side of revolving door security through obscurity powerplayers.

    Deficits don't matter, jobs do.

    •  Oh I agree completely. (0+ / 0-)

I tipd and recd the diary first.

I'm just chalking it up to an execution fuckup on the part of the administration rather than some sort of conspiracy. They got this law, didn't bother to learn how to implement it it or budget for implementing, and then basically gave up trying.

I actually don't think they really care if its public information because these people have no shame and really dont give a shit if the public knows. And since the Washington Media is right there in bed with the same people (literally in bed in many cases), I doubt they'll even bother to make a big deal of it.

Besides, this law as enrolled already had a loophole big enough to drive a truck through.
