        The cacophony of blowhards criticizing PBO for not crying "terrorism!" before the bombing was even 2 hours old, or trying to hustle a Saudi national to the gallows because he's, well, a Saudi, (isn't that enough?) would do well to remember what such a rush to judgment did to Mr. Jewell in 1996. As if they care.

    The Republican motto: "There's been a lot of progress in this country over the last 75 years, and we've been against all of it."

      for immediately recognizing a hazard and leading people away from the Atlanta bombs. He saved many lives that day by his action. His reward was to have been hounded by the FBI and others as a criminal. This poor man's life was ruined. And all he wanted to be was a cop. There is some small justice, I suppose, in that Mr. Jewell was indeed a real police officer for a while before he died prematurely.
