    One of my law school profs clerked for Thomas. Said he was embarrassingly dumb. And the Senate that confirmed him should be embarrassed, too.

      What kind of person, let alone a lawyer, can go this many years without asking a single question?  I don't buy this business that some theorize, that this is because he's known not to "like" oral arguments (he is indeed known to dislike oral arguments).

      But, OK, so he doesn't like oral arguments - there has never been any sort of issue brought up that led him to either ask a question or point out an inconsistency in seven years and counting now?  He broke his silence recently - and only briefly - to make a wisecrack about Yale, his alma mater, which he disdains because he believes that his degree has been devalued by Yale since he may have received preferential admission due to his race or economic background.  Seriously.

      not speak in open sessions, since it would showcase his lack of intellectual abilities.
