    in the matter. The problem is further up the food chain.

      No one held a gun to his head and forced him to become a retail manager. He could have stayed a member of retail staff or simply treated his emloyees more humanely on the sly, out of site of upper management. Our problems start with the conscious choices individuals make.

        to be good low-level managers so they can become good upper-level management.  Personally, I couldn't stomach it.
