i remember the quietness and no buses - the police received a warning - the police officers killed were approaching the car when it detonated - distinct, muffled low booms.  we were looking at magazines in the newstand near the bus stop.

    then the sirens started.

i can still hear it.  and the windows that depicted a "dickens' christmas" were blown apart - along with six lives who happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time.

the sounds of the texas disaster and the boston disaster - both bring back memories...

And there were otherwise well-intentioned people, all across the political spectrum, who refused to see that what the IRA was doing was wrong.

The Dutch kids' chorus Kinderen voor Kinderen wishes all the world's children freedom from hunger, ignorance, and war.

protect others. it is the last resort in a series of already bad mistakes.

funny how the "professionals" tell us that certain memories remain vivid - burned in our psyche with intensity.

i can only begin to imagine how those who serve in the military, ems, police, firefighters and other emergency workers and responders must feel - and, then, there are those who just go to aid others in disasters with no support services to aid them in the days/weeks/months/years to come.

ptsd is a strange thing... and that isn't good strange.

mine are minor memories, but they are vivid and lucidly clear after all these years.  i can only begin to imagine the memories of others...
