Stress can cause adults to freak out too, and a panicking child can make an adult who is desperately trying to hold it together to say whatever it takes to essentially "shut that damn kid up."

I'm not saying its right. I'm just saying that I've seen a lot of people under ungodly stress in their lives. Some cry. Some panic. Some shut down. Some lash out and shout. Some get stone cold efficient.

And it's hard to predict how anyone will react. A mild-mannered person may become a screamer. The normally eractic person may become the picture of calm.

Unless you've ever been in that sort of situation (repeatedly), it's hard to know how you will react.

So I tend to withhold judgement of people in stressful conditions. Yes, they may not be helpful. But it really may be all they can do to hold it together.

    Just my two cents...

So if you get hit by a bus tonight, would you be satisfied with how you spent today, your last day on earth? Live like tomorrow is never guaranteed, because it's not. -- Me.

and in the scary situation, Think it was just a commenter writing after the you tube and stupid or vile internet comments  hardly take explaining.

      •  Oh! (0+ / 0-)

I thought it was someone on the tape-- like the Dad's buddy. I didn't understand why I didn't hear it.

Ok. Makes sense. Yeah, Internet commenters can be awful. Vile evil people. And I'll stack on top of my previous comment: it's really easy to be brave when you're (not "you," specifically)sitting in your basement  in your pajamas, safe and warm, drinking bud light, criticizing some poor kid who just watched his whole hometown blow up.

I really don't like comments criticizing people in crisis. Anonymous internet commenters are the worst.
