And prayer belongs in the faith-based community.  Still.  Please do not use language that implies that prayer does not work. It's offensive to me and to many others. Just omit the comments about prayer. That would satisfy everyone: believers and atheists alike. Just leave it out.
I am a scientist. I am based in reality. Still, I believe prayer does work. You don't have any "reality-based evidence" that it doesn't. It's a difference of belief. That's all.  All day long I have had an overwhelming urge to pray for West, and last night too, I might add. And I have been praying for the people of West.
So give it a rest and do not use derogatory language about prayer. To each his own.
You can have your beliefs. I have mine.  I don't come on here and use derogatory language about atheists. I respect their right to their own beliefs. Please don't assume you are not offending people when you used derogatory language about prayer, simply because we are "reality-based."
Can we use language here that does not offend so many of us? "People, can we all just get along?" That's all I'm asking. Peace. And hugs to you.
And yes, Perry, Flores, Cruz and Cornyn are jerks, morons, and hypocrites. The people of Texas need to Vote. Them OUT.

Not gonna happen.  Of course feel devastated that this could happen anywhere--but let's face it--by the weekend focus will be on the next gabfest topic du jour.  Am being very successful in weaning off the pathetic media this week--finally have had enough of trash journalism by incompetent news-readers and so-called experts.

      •  Agree. Most Texas voters are low-information. (1+ / 0-)

I think the state may eventually turn blue do to the increase in the Hispanic population, however. At least I hope.
I do not get my news from the MSM any longer. I get my news  here.
