on you for loaning the money.  I lent a guy i new 2500 bucks (he worked for me painting)  sadly he screwed me out of 800 bucks.   His problem now/.
I think micro loans are the way to go, but i would help someone in a third world if i could.

Socialist? I do not think that word means what you think it means.

    •  I admire Carlos more than I've said . . . (1+ / 0-)

I've overheard other people who know Carlos say he's as gentle as a child, such a humble person, means well by everyone, always does more than is asked, things like that.

Another one called him simple. Nope. He's fast, exact, clever and very thorough. When he does such good work it isn't to please his boss for the day, it's to honor himself and his people. Which at the moment is just his family.

His village is his people, and he wishes more than anything that he could go home, but it just isn't safe there anymore. So his family is in exile. His sons will not know their own culture.

When I learned he's from Chiapas, I knew he's Mayan, and grew up in a tight-knit culture where the village survives together or no one does. I also knew he could be trusted far beyond any definition of the word we are accustomed to up North.
