  •  Would that mean he'd been in the US (0+ / 0-)

    for more than a year?

    •  The scholarship was awarded in 2011 (0+ / 0-)

at the end of the school year. So he would have attended the class of  2012 school year. That means he's been here about a year.

His parents brought him from Kyrgistan when he was a kid. One of the other commenters mentioned that they taught a kid by that name in 7th grade in Cambridge.

Grammar, vocabulary, flow. The media has been reporting that they've been here at least a year. They're now starting to amend that to a longer period.

And I was wrong about the scholarship.

He's Rindge/Cambridge class of 2011, not 2012. That confirms 2+ years, but his language skills tell me he's been here since before he was 9 years old. My evidence is may Father-in-law who came to the US when he was 9. He has no accent at all (except for a righteous Worcester, Mass Yankee accent). His brother was 11 when he came here. Heavy Greek accent he never lost in over 80 years in the US.

So the younger terrorist has probably been in the US for 10+ years. My guess.

          •  Yeah, we're in new territory here (0+ / 0-)

For all practical purposes, these guys were indistinguishable from native born citizens, which explains why it looked like a domestic terrorist attack. It's even more important now to find out whether there was a tangible connection to overseas organizations or if this was a matter of copycat inspiration.

            •  There are circumstantial connections (0+ / 0-)

through the older brother. Not particular connection to anything that's organized, rather just the idea of being a separate lone wolf type jihad.

From the links on their facebook page and other writings, this doesn't seem to be related to their ethnicity, rather it's more like your basic far right wing anti-goverment brother-in-law who's builing an arsenal to win their own little imaginary revolution to take back their whatever....

The comments post from their family members (I located a sister and an aunt) pretty much say this outright. They say they blocked email from the brothers because it got so bad.

Maybe these idiots are a blend of domestic, foreign, and religious fanatics. I hope they take him alive.
