  •  yes, it is interesting that they didnt seem to (5+ / 0-)

have an exit plan - having to rob people for presumbably escape money, kind of crime spreeing all over the place last night and not having a plan to get outside the Boston area.  Does this mean possibly they had other targets and didnt get to complete?  You do all that planning for a big "show" and then end up running around and exposing yourselves; I dont get it, but then who knows how a mind like that operates.

maybe the Marathon was Phase I?

Scary to speculate.  If somehow this kid gets taken alive, maybe we'll find out.

early yesterday, and before any of this started he said people planning terrorists acts will often devote all their time planning and their money to the act and have no plan for afterwards.

      Seems like he was right.

      •  Picking up his still unfixed car (0+ / 0-)

from the body shop was one clue, as was nothing having a working escape vehicle, money or provisions. If they were "pros" or at least thought this through, they would have been out of the country that day, driving several hundred miles to an airport in a different state or crossing into Canada.

The one "saving grace" of these "amateur" attacks is that these people are usually too dumb to do even more harm, and are almost always caught.

There are a lot of really stupid criminals in the world, and these two brothers are/were apparently two of them. No disguise, no money, no car, no plan. Their uncle has it right: losers.

Hope the cops and FBI can keep their f-ing fingers off their triggers, take their time, and take little brother alive. We need to find out if he had help.

If you're planning a suicide attack, do it in that order.

        •  you're referring to "if he had help"? (0+ / 0-)

Shrug. Occam's razor says big brother was the operations mastermind.

Literally any dummy can go buy 10 lbs of black powder, a pack of model rocket igniters, and download instructions for a garage-door-opener based remote trigger.

So they didn't need any help to be stupid criminals, but you need to check anyway.  Jeez, the brothers might be the leaders and they have less-intelligent followers.

Anyway, hope they can get him alive...
