    My concern was that the guilty would "get off easy", w/o much benefit to the victims.  I'm glad to see the process was well-handled and has delivered some truly healing results.

    I'll always remember the day of that first free South African election in 1994, when I struggled to explain to my just-turned 4 year old daughter what newly-free people were doing on the other side of the world from us, as I drove her to her daycare on my way into the office.

    I am still so proud of what Mandela, Tutu, and so many nameless Africans were able to accomplish--and still so contemptuous of the Cheneys and others who opposed them every step of the way.
