    We always correct misinformation. Some of that misinformation came from police scanners. The police were wrong a few times as well. We can write that off due to the fog of war. On the other hand...

    Others have simply gotten old. I prefer to think I've been tempered by time.

      the thing. The tweet was not based on any broadcast messages.

      And, add to that, police scanners are notoriously inaccurate for determining what is happening.  They are an indicator of where police are responding and what people are claiming or telling the police. They are not an indicator of reality.

      I say that as a former federal law enforcement officer of many years (awhile back, thankfully).  Lots of crazy stuff came over the radio. Most of it never panned out when investigated in person.
