  •  Kind of glad my mom-in-law (6+ / 0-)

hasn't gotten her TV hooked up -- she's having enough problems with depression as it is. (Her current problem is getting stuff together for taxes -- she's got an extension but is still convinced she's going to be sent to prison. Mr. Scribe and her advocate are working with her, but it's a struggle.)

occasional home care as needed (filling out the bills and taking her shopping). Neurologist says she has alzheimers.  She can still cook and dress and clean her bird's cage and exercise and watch the horror on the daily news....

        Growing up ain't for sissies.

Doctor doesn't think she has Alzheimer's or even dementia, but does think she may have had a mild stroke that's affected her thinking. Fortunately we set a lot in place while she was still more coherent; Mr. Scribe has his name on the checking account so can write checks on it if necessary, and we can access her various savings accounts as well, and we both have financial and medical POAs.
