  •  Boston was worse because terrorists! (11+ / 0-)

It's not about body counts, it's about how easy it is to blame foreigners!

but seriously, I agree with you. I would really like to hear more on Texas. Unfortunately, the dangers of deregulation isn't as sexy a story as catching terrorists.

    •  Workplace safety and corporate (8+ / 0-)

defiance of federal safety laws should be every bit as "sexy" a story as terrorism.

With the exception of 2001, workplace injuries and deaths far outnumber those caused by "terrorism" in the US each year.

It's how the story is packaged and presented that makes it of interest to the viewers. Wonder why there isn't more airtime devoted to injuries and deaths caused by deliberate flaunting of regulations...oh, wait, I know.

We should also know the names of those lost in the explosion in Texas, and the miners who lost their lives in West Virginia and Kentucky, and the boys who were drowned in corn in Illinois, and all the American workers who lost their lives in industrial "accidents." And then, we should know the names of all those who caused those accidents through their own greed and negligence. Their names should be as familiar to us as the people responsible for Newtown and Boston.
