I know exactly one person who owns handguns, and has jumped thru the hoops to get concealed carry here in Mass.  He is a pretty big guy, 6' 3 or so, and a whole lot fitter than I am. He is also one of the most timid people I know.

There were three of us, and the topic of dinner came up.  Suggested was Boston's Chinatown.  He wouldn't go, as he did not have a weapon on his person.  We did try to reason with him, pointing out predators don't go in for fair fights.  Unless he was the only possible prey, the predator would find an easier target.

What was particularly amusing as the third in the group, (who like me, was under 6') had lived in the neighborhood for more than a year...  The only thing he worried about while living there was that the building inspector would find his residential conversion of an industrial only zoned loft, and he would have to move.

The result - Geo and I went, I rode the subway back to the car at around 11 pm, solo.  It was a great meal, there are advantages to having someone that is known as one of the locals, even if they aren't chineese.  I don't think anything we were served was on the English language menu.

This planet needs a lot more kids who think taking a lawnmower apart is more fun than playing a videogame.
