    from 1960 to today.   I do mean House Republicans, since the median House member is a conservative R, although on the gun issue, there are more Dems who'd vote with the NRA than Republicans who'd cross back over.

    The fact that one must make compromises to pass a budget one wouldn't otherwise favor is exactly the point illustrated by the failure of the exact opposite approach.

    Difficult, difficult, lemon difficult.
