  •  It has been a terrible week (22+ / 0-)

My heart goes out to Boston -- and to all those there, and in West, who have experienced so much sorrow.  Thank you so much.

    •  aching hearts all around. The others in West who (3+ / 0-)

died or were injured and their loved ones, those who lost homes  and lost neighbors
and they all lost so much there.

They have all been so much on my mind and in my heart. At that interfaith Boston memorial I was so relieved when the rabbi who spoke included those hurt by West tragedy. (I'd been sure they all would) To the little degree it helps I want them to know that we see them, we grieve with them, we all care.

I am glad there to help as I can those who ran to fight the fire... but would like to help those who were just innocently at home. They didn't know they were in danger.
It seems plants that manufacture or store ammonium nitrate  get to stay more secret because of security concerns. Were fire fighters aware and trained?
One would think that after Texas City in 1947 safety concerns would reign supreme.
I hear this was a terrible accident. Maybe, if accident just means not on purpose. But there has to be something done wrong to get the product to explode, some very unsafe storage...
and it can't be looked away from

Let these deaths be not in vain.
