  •  If it was a musket it would have been loaded (0+ / 0-)

with buck and ball, and there would have been just about no chance of missing at that range, baring misfire.

The reality is that there would have been one person lying dead.

I love you stupid fucking fucks. Now stop poking at the dead cat on the table and get back to the issues.

      •  That's likely right. At that point, it's a club. (0+ / 0-)

The ridiculous and dishonest point attempted, though, is that the weapons which enabled the genocide of multiple nations of people and devastated Europe for 400 years were harmless toys, and this non-lethal nature was the reason for the 2nd.

The creators of the ad were clearly trying to leave an impression in the minds of 21st century Americans that muskets were harmless toys.  I find it refreshing that a group has been established that finally speaks the truth about muskets.  In fact, I think I will donate to this group because the "Muskets are harmless" is a message that modern society really should come to learn and fully understand.  I salute them for making that ad and I salute you for being able to pick up on that message.

Sadly, I think many people will not get that message.  They will likely be confused and think that the real message is that laws relating to arms should be updated to reflect the current state of the technology or some such rubbish.  I won't blame the poor saps that actually believe that though.  Instead I will blame the Republicans for cutting education budgets that have hurt our ability to think critically.

        •  sorry, but that is not the point (0+ / 0-)

the point is that laws that were appropriate for one kind of technology probably need to be addressed when technology is vastly different.
