    that has screwed and will screw us for another few generations: nobody knows til they know so they don't believe the stories (imagine if you didn't have health insurance) and the  ability to litigate it is entirely on the side of the provider. Divide and conquer, and bleed each individual into singular exasperation. I'm not saying I completely give up on the ACA, but the fundamental flaw is and always was our citizens' irrational fear of "socialism" and so the thing that needed to be changed was the ability to bargain collectively, and the ACA driving everyone into the market without the right to negotiate collectively could get ugly fast. The one option I see now is a privately organized "public" option that essentially would be a non-profit, operating as the entity that negotiated on behalf of the 30, 40, 50 million people who will otherwise be forced to pay for a plan they cannot use in a system with no impetus to play fair.
