    example of how 'personal responsibility' and willful neglect come into conflict in the bizarre 'you're on your own' fantasy world.

    What choices should the victims of that blast made? Don't live in that town?
    Don't be old? Don't volunteer in the fire department?

    Take back the House in 2014!!!! ( 50-state strategy needed)

      The individual owner, apparently, was admirably gaming the system to maintain his individual rights - - except that this was in a social context, in the context of livelihoods and lives of others.

      Just like the owner of Massey Energy, the guy was thinking of his duty and himself as a "business owner." The problem is that he is not a solitary individual. The very social imprint that he (or they) want to use to get greater weight in social discourse means that they cannot act by egoism. When they do, other people die.

      Your observation is right, and the war profiteers get caught, and some of them even go to jail, but energy barons just kill and blame the workers.
