    those long necks, the Pelagics even more so than the Double Crested which are the usual ones here in my bays. They fly quite vigorously too, far more sprightly than herons, though they like to free fall for a bit before they get going.

    I think of these Pelagics as a treat when I'm traveling. Even in winter, without all the color, their silhouettes against the sky are so beautiful. I'll dig up a photo of that to show you. Yes, you could watch them endlessly.

    Spitting snow! Hard to imagine. In May! But I'm glad you're getting ample rain.
